Researchers reported that certain “good” bacteria in the stomach feed off dark
chocolate! The bacteria ferment the dark
chocolate into compounds that are good for your heart. There are two kinds of
microbe in the gut. One is “good” bacteria and the other is “bad” bacteria.
When you eat dark chocolate it grows the good bacteria which are anti
inflammatory. The so called bad bacteria produce inflammation which is
associated with bloating diarrhea and constipation. When the good compounds are
absorbed by the body they lesson the inflammation produced by the bad
compounds.
So to our delight, dark chocolate gets another top mark!
