The Nidhi – the container that holds the treasures of life

The Nidhi is the container that holds all of life’s treasures known as the Nidhis. Once we find the container and learn how to open its lid, we will find that all the treasures are available to each and every one of us and once attained, is used properly, will bring us prosperity. The Nidhis are somewhat shrouded in mystery and said to be a secret. But remember a secret is only a secret until it is revealed. Here is one philosophical interpretations of the Nidhi and how to find the Nidhis contained within. A person is drawn to pleasurable objects only when they seem to be real, permanent and potentiality satisfying. When we understand that all objects in life are not permanent and always subject to change, our minds become calm and strive towards higher attainment. According to the Hindu scriptures there are nine qualities required to discover the nidhis. Discovering them will bring us prosperity and they are: 1 Calmness 2 Self-control 3. Self-withdrawal (reflection) 4. Capacity to endure sorrows and sufferings 5 Sincerity and intellectual appreciation 6.Tranquility; the poise gained by constant contemplation 7.Discrimination between right and wrong 8. Unshakeable faith, leading one to attain what might appear unattainable 9. Strive to become the perfected human, living connected to the true self; equally disseminating joy, cheer and bliss to all. These are indeed the nine qualities every human must attain to discover the true treasures of life. This leads to nirvana; reuniting self with the universal soul. The soul reaches this state after living many lives and that is why we need to work our karma because to discover nirvana we need the freedom that comes with liberation. You cannot find freedom until you have paid your karmic debt. Let’s reflect on these nine for a moment. Remember; You are a result of every thought word and deed. So, live your life as you would live it in eternity. This takes work that’s karma let’s get started END The habits you form are a result of repeated actions you initiated over lifetimes of experience, be they wise, or foolish. In yoga we call this samskara, or the impressions that get inscribed into the mental grove of our being. These grooves are formed by repetitive thoughts, patterns, or habits that get deeper over time. If negative impressions get ingrained the mental emotional self is unable to integrate with the other layers of self – the physical, energetic, higher wisdom and ultimately bliss. To prosper we must be fully integrated at our highest level. Once you establish a pattern it takes conscious work to dissolve it, or in the case of a positive pattern constant work to maintain it. It may take lifetimes to work this through. That is the nature of karma. We are on an evolutionary journey from lifetime to lifetime to resolve and transcend our negative karma (patterns) and establish ourselves in maksha; the freedom to simply be in a state of eternal bliss. It is by the force of karma that we are born again and again in an attempt to resolve and complete this journey. EGO: flip up the palms of your hand and extend your index finger the symbol of your ego. Feel it pull you away from your center. Freedom to do, think and say as it pleases is the desire of the ego. Karma reminds us that this is not freedom. If we truly wish to find freedom, we must do the karmic work; observe, detach and let go. Pull your finger in and place your thumb on top – the symbol of the soul. To discover the container that holds the treasures of life connect with your soul and: 1 be Calm 2 Have Self-control 3.Take time to withdraw and reflect 4.Have the Capacity to endure sorrows and sufferings 5 Be sincere and intellectually appreciate all that comes into your life 6.Be Tranquility; contemplate 7.Discrimination between right and wrong 8.Have Unshakeable faith, leading one to attain what might appear unattainable 9.Strive to become the perfected human, living connected to your true self; equally disseminating joy, cheer and bliss to all. A Day of Prosperity

Each day get up and ask Lakshmi to guide you towards the four directions, or aims in life. She has four hands reaching out offering you wealth, pleasure, harmony and liberation. At the end of the day reflect on how each of these came to you. This is known as gratitude. Each day look to create and appreciate. You will discover wealth, pleasure, harmony and liberation are not that difficult to establish. Do not get caught up in the world of material wealth. Happiness is not found in the size of your bank account. Happiness is simple and pure. It cannot be bought. However, do seek to create wealth in the world. With material wealth we can build a better world that enjoys good health care, education, art, music, shelter and food for all. It is not wealth that destroys; it is greed. Seek to create and then create more. Each time you reach out make punja (good merits and remove papa (bad energy) and you will discover how to follow the four aims that lead to prosperity. Enjoy the pleasures of life, but remember even the so-called good pleasures can turn painful if you are not careful. Enjoy everything, but never to excess. Move in harmony with life. This means to become the observer and not the judge and jury. Discord and dissention will never bring you prosperity. Except things as they are and make peace with them. You can then reach out to change something, but do it from a place of acceptance and contentment. This will bring you liberation. If you have something you are struggling with, observe it and accept it for what it is right here right now. In a moment all things may change and what might be important today might be meaningless tomorrow. Count your blessings and appreciate everything for it is all just a great opportunity to learn, know and master life. Even anger can be a great teacher if you learn to observe it and then use it to remind yourself to be kind. Awareness is the key. In a world full of chaos and cruelty you will need balance, strength, flexibility and peace to navigate the pathway of prosperity. This requires work and that is karma; so, let’s get started END: Each day I ask Lakshmi to guide me. (I have a small statue of Lakshmi on my desk). I ask Lakshmi to guide me toward wealth, pleasure harmony and liberation. And she directs me. For example: One day I receive a royalty from one of my books. It was not a large amount of money, but it was a symbol of my success. I had produced a book and it was paying me money. I am wealthy. A friend called and we had a good laugh. I value her friendship. It gave me great pleasure. My timing was rhythmic as I moved through my workday. I accomplished what I set out to do. I moved in harmony with the universe. Something I wanted to happen did not. I accepted it and moved on without a hitch. It is liberating to fail, or not get what you want and still be happy and at peace. Something better will come my way if I reach out for more from a place of contentment. In this I am truly a prosperous woman. If you feel poor, unhappy, disjointed and imprisoned everyone around you will pick up on this energy. But if you aim for and find, even in the simplest of things, wealth, pleasure, harmony and liberation you will attract what we all desire; prosperity with a purpose. Pay careful attention to energy, direction and consciousness. These three things will guide you towards prosperity. A prosperous world awaits anyone who follows the path with a balanced state of being and a clear mind. Walk, listen, look, feel, smell, taste, touch and intuit the world. Prosperity is everywhere. EGO: Flip your palms up and extend your index finger; the symbol of the go. Feel it pull you from your center. The ego believes itself to be intelligent and thus wise, but remember wisdom is more than intelligence. Wisdom is in knowing that everything constantly changes so don’t get attached to anything. It is also the realization that time has wings; it flies, so don’t waste it. Just remember – you never step into the same river twice – choose wisely, walk softly and stay on the path. Along the soulful path there will be many divergences and zigs and zags. There will be times when you will wander so far off the path you get lost. This is when you know you are being led by the go and not the soul. Pull your index finger in and place your thumb on top; the symbol of the soul. Use the world to realize your highest potential, or the world will use you. This is how you master life and prosper. Karma yoga teaches us that everything is simply cause and effect. What you think, say and do is what you become. Wisdom is in knowing that through your perceptions and attitudes you have the power to bring wealth, pleasure, harmony and liberation into our life. To prosper you need to know how to work your karma and then how to keep your focus on the four aims or directions in life; wealth, pleasure, harmony and liberation. Then next you will need to know where to find the Nidhi; the container that holds the treasures of life. Next week we will begin to look for the Nidhi and its treasures. “The more things change, the more they stay the same.”

Lakshmi has four hands. She directs you to find wealth, pleasurer, harmony and liberation every day. Today we focus on liberation. The journey of life is not about your body or about your mind, but about your soul. We are here to understand life and thus to discover liberation. Don’t confuse liberation with having the freedom to do whatever you choose. Liberation means to reach a level of peace with life just as it is - it means to become the observer of life free of disturbance and judgement. With liberation comes wisdom. • Why is it so difficult to accept that change is the only absolute in life? We seek out the permanent aspect of everything because it makes us feel safe, content and connected. We try to control the impermanent aspects of life because the unknown causes us to feel anxious and fearful. But impermanence is exactly what we need if we are to find the ultimate prize of life, and that is liberation; the freedom to accept things and to let them come and go without attachment. There is a proverb that goes, “The more things change, the more they stay the same.” This refers to the ever-changing element of nature held fast by the never changing essence of life. Everything in nature is constantly changing, right down to the molecules and cells of your body. But the underlying essence of life stays the same. Love, hatred, war, peace, feast and famine; life will always present us with these basic challenges of existence. It is our approach to these things that constantly changes. Since the beginning of time humans have raged war and conflict. How we approach it and what we call it has constantly changed. We will always need food and shelter. We will always seek love and acceptance and we will always feel fear and anxiety. This is a part of human nature. But if we can develop the ability to pause and catch a breath at the wonders of life, we will realize that everything is simply an opportunity. Become the observer of life and you will discover liberation. This takes work – that’s karma. Let’s get started END You are here to learn, know and master life and with this comes wisdom. Without all the experiences of life wisdom can never be found. One thing I know for sure about wisdom is that it doesn’t come easy and experiences don’t come without living a full life. To discover liberation is to embrace all of life without attachment. But never be indifferent. This leads to wisdom. Wisdom is sometimes defined as knowledge. But plenty of people have knowledge with little common sense, or judgment. Wisdom is far more than knowledge; however, it does require knowledge and experience. Wisdom is the ability to learn, know and master your life. Wisdom is in knowing the right path to walk. Integrity is walking it. This is the great challenge of life. EGO: Flip up your hand and extend out your index finger the symbol of your ego. With your eyes closed feel your ego pull you from your center. The ego gets caught up in attitude and believes this to be reality. Karma yoga reminds us that the entire world is simply our own projection. If you feel bound, you are bound, and if you feel liberated you are liberated. Pull your finger in and place you thumb on top – the symbol of your soul. A wise person knows that if you control your mind, you control everything. Then there is nothing left to bind you. You are liberated. Takes work and that’s karma! Harmony Brings Prosperity

According to Karma yoga the whole material universe consists of five everlasting, enduring substances. It is through their relationship to each other that the whole world unfolds and evolves. Ideally there should be harmony and this will bring prosperity. These five enduring substances are space, motion, rest, matter and soul. Space is the container of everything; motion is required for energy to move and change to occur; and rest is necessary for matter to congeal or accumulate. You, and everything in the material world exist in this space as movement of energy that has congealed to create matter. The soul is the spark or the unifying energy that gives birth to our potential. Therefore, we and everything in the universe exist as matter, occupying space with the potential to create. What we create is what we become. Create harmony and you will prosper. For the most part relationships provide us with an opportunity to discover who we are. We relate to people, to places and to things. We relate to nature, technology, art, music, food and every aspect of life. It is when we are in the disharmony with these relationships that fear, anguish and disappointment are created. remember to remove the D-GAP- deceit, greed, anger and pride. Replace them with honesty, generosity, compassion and humility and in this you prosper. In all relationships, but more specifically in love relationships we are constantly moving between coming together and moving apart, holding on and letting go, yielding and taking the lead. Most people find this dance so difficult. Often, they find themselves deadlocked into opposing positions where they simply fight or take flight. Communication breaks down. Like Lakshmi and Shiva, the dance is either one of creation or destruction. The single biggest problem we face as human beings is communication. Without communication nothing would exist. From the tiniest form of life to the vast cosmos, every part of life is involved in the exchange of information and that is the essence of communication. The age of “information shock or overload” is upon us. Instant anywhere anytime information permeates our daily lives. The computer and the internet make it possible for us to instantly communicate anywhere in the world, any time, on almost any subject matter. The Internet has made us a global communication network. It has compressed time and space into a new reality and with this new reality come the stresses and strains of an evolving world. Although technology has the ability to open many doors of opportunity it equally brings with it added stress, competition and a feeling of information overload. These can lead to disharmony and is exactly why we need to consciously pay attention to how and what information we communicate, if we are to prosper. If you have ever experienced an inharmonious relationship either in your work, your family, your love life, or any aspect of your life, you know the feeling of anguish. It disrupts not only one part of your life, but disrupts all the other parts. Disharmony within a family causes disharmony at work, at play and to your health. Disharmony causes us to pull away, lose our footing, slip and fall into the D-GAP. This takes work that’s karma let; get started: END So how do we maintain a harmonious balance with life? How do we stay on the sharp edge of existence without being too close or too distant, or without the risk of losing ourselves? We want freedom and yet we strive for stability and commitment. We want love and yet we get angry. How can we get close to life, be familiar and comfortable, and at the same time return with a sense of passion and love? We must learn to walk the “middle way”. The middle way means to not become identified with anything: love or hate, happiness or depression, attachment or detachment. Instead, you simply come back to the present moment, putting aside all attachments to any position. Just remember right now one thing may be important, but circumstances will happen and tomorrow it may lose its significance. Harmony requires commitment, understanding, patience, and forgiveness, a lot of hard work, compromise, balance, flexibility, strength and respect. It means to put aside our attachment to being right, or even being wrong, and come back to the present moment and do what it takes to remove discord. Then just like in music, arrange the notes so that what we experience is melodic harmony. We now move gracefully in rhythm with life and this creates harmony. This is how to prosper. EGO Flip your palms up and extend you index finger – the symbol of your ego. Feel it pull you away from your center. Remember the whole material universe consists of five everlasting and imperishable substances; space, motion, rest, matter and soul. What’s important is how matter relates to other matter within the space it occupies. This is something we must constantly remind our ego; it is not the center of the universe. Pull your finger in and place your thumb on top – the symbol of the soul. How we relate to life creates either harmony or discord. All of life is equal, but different. And that is what makes life so interesting. Harmonize with life and the obstacles that block success will be removed and you will prosper. Harmony – the third direction or aim in life

Lakshmi has four hands in which she suggests we follow or aim for these four things every day. The first is to bring wealth into your life. Wealth is not necessarily in the form of money. It may come to you in good health, in deep friendship, love, or creativity. If you find these things in your life you are a wealthy person. However, it is good for a society to be wealthy when the wealth is used to contribute to humanitarian causes such as good health care, education, art and decent living for all. Pleasure is the second aim. Pleasure is what drives life. If you laugh, enjoy the simple things and find joy in what you are doing you will find pleasure in your life. Just remember pleasure to extremes leads to pain. A wise person will always choose to do what is good over sheer pleasure. This can be interpreted a number of ways. One way is that a wise person will choose what is good over the pleasure of comfort, or a wise person will choose to seek pleasure through effort and depth over laziness and superficiality. It’s not pleasure that destroys the good. It is deceit and greed. The third aim to is create harmony. Harmony is the third direction or aim in life. This means to move in harmony with life and this requires a code of ethics and morals that act as beacons telling us how to behave. In yoga we would call these the Yamas and Niyamas. These basic suggestions give us a guide for creating harmony rather than disharmony. Disharmony creates discord and when we are in discord with the world prosperity is diminished. To use an analogy; when it comes to music harmony builds upon an already existing melody. In its more literal sense, a melody is a combination of pitch and rhythm. Rhythm is defined as the pulse, or beat of an activity. Plato made the observation that rhythm is “an order of movement.” So, for harmony to exist there must be an order to the movement of energy. It is so easy to get caught up in the dramas, problems and stresses of life and to believe them to be the final reality. All that happens in your life is simply an opportunity to discover and correct your karma. When you begin to understand this, you will discover how to bring rhythm and melody together to create harmony. Let’s get started. END The irony of life is that for all our outward striving and drama in the end the sum total always adds up to zero. We take none of the dramas, problems and stressors with us when we depart this world. What we do take is the karma of our experiences. How we use these experiences defines our next reincarnate. If life hands you a difficult problem and you face it with compassion and understanding you create harmony and not discord. It is not the problem you take with you when you depart this world, but the virtue of compassion and this will assist you in this life and all the others lives to come. EGO: Flip your palms upward and extend out your index finger and feel the ego pull you away from your center. By cultivating harmony, we develop compassion and understanding with all our relationships on earth. We move from being separate and bound by the ego to merging past the barriers that keep us apart and at odds. Pull your finger in and place your thumb on top, which is the symbol of your soul. When we develop impartiality towards all things of the world, we become one force of energy and with this the emotions of love, caring and empathy endure under all circumstances. However, impartiality does not mean to be indifferent. It means to be undisturbed by the ebb and flow of life. This is how we create harmony. Namaste ~ may you soul walk with health, happiness and peace and may you have a wealthy, pleasurable and harmonious life. The Four Aims or Directions that Lead to Prosperity

Lakshmi has four hands and fours aims or direction for us to seek every day. The first is wealth remember what it is the second is pleasure today we are going to dig a little deeper into pleasure. The Katha Upanishad, from an ancient Hindu Text, teaches us to overcome pain by understanding it. We cannot bargain with life, but we can come to understand that all of life is a process that involves experiencing both pleasure and pain. It reminds us to not take our life for granted. Enjoy the pleasure found in the moments; earth life is short. But we must always be reminded to keep everything in balance; less we tip the scale from pleasure to pain. Pay attention to your craving and your desires. We are here on earth to understand our existence and to see how we can use all the experiences of life to broaden our knowledge. You cannot bargain with life or death, but you can make peace with these two opposing forces through good character, soulful aims, restraint, dutifulness, knowledge and the choices you consciously make. Pleasure has both a physical and emotional aspect. Pleasure is comprised of five layers; it is sensual, loving, has a purpose, is creative and exercises free will. All of these layers are important to humans. They bring us pleasure, but can equally bring us pain if we are not careful with our karma; pay attention to what and how you think, speak and act. Just remember all things in moderation. A wise person will always choose to do what is good over sheer pleasure. This can be interpreted a number of ways. One way is that a wise person will choose what is good over the pleasure of comfort, or a wise person will choose to seek pleasure through effort and depth over laziness and superficiality. Let’s get to work. END As well as being necessary for your survival, pleasure has many levels and layers. Just remember it can also be destructive if we allow pleasure to control our desires to the point of pain and addiction. But pleasure at the deeper layers of our being instills beauty and when pleasure and beauty come together, we truly understand the importance of enjoying the real pleasures of life. In harmony with life pleasures are never destructive, but always uplifting. Understanding this you will begin to prosper. It’s not pleasure that destroys the good. It is deceit and greed. We sometimes greedily deceive ourselves into believing we need more. That is why yoga teaches us to enjoy the pleasures of life, but always in moderation and never to excess. It is our desire for excess that tips pleasure into pain. But pleasure at the deeper layers of our being instills beauty and when pleasure and beauty come together, we truly understand the importance of enjoying the real pleasures of life. In harmony with life pleasures are never destructive, but always uplifting. Understanding this you will begin to prosper. EGO – flip up your palms and extend out your index finger. Feel it pull you from your center. The greatest pleasure comes from the depth of our soul. When we truly experience something, with full involvement, by tapping into its essence, we discover the true nature of pleasure. We sometimes call this being in the flow or in the moment. Whether it is eating chocolate, sipping a great wine, buying a gift, making love, or spending tons of money it’s not pleasure that should be avoided, but the greedy, deceitful, self-serving nature of the ego. The ego always wants and thinks it deserves more! Pull your ego in (index finger) and place your thumb (the symbol of your soul) on top. The soul will always remind you to Practice moderation in all things and in all things be moderate. With this you will discover true wealth and soulful pleasures. In this you prosper. Sensually connecting with someone you intimately love, for the purpose of creating, is the closest two souls can get to willful pleasure. The more aware you are of the nature of pleasure the more likely you are to discover it and use it wisely. Soul Walking seek #pleaure and you will #prosper

RECAP Lakshmi has four hands that remind us to aim for four things each day and in this we will prosper. The first is wealth. Just remember it is not wealth that destroys it is greed. (One of the basic emotions of karma). Every day seek to bring wealth to your life. Wealth is not necessarily the accumulation of things. It comes to us through good health, a helping hand from a friend, or something we learn that helps us towards our goals. Reach out for wealth from a place of contentment and peace and then say to yourself, I am content and from here I reach out to bring wealth into my life. The second aim is pleasure The human drive is not simply to survive; it wants to thrive and to thrive we seek pleasure. We are programed to strive for survival and longevity and an essential part of this is the drive towards pleasure. What would the world be like if we could not enjoy the pleasures of life? Some interpretations of yoga appear to denounce pleasure. It is thought to distract us from our karmic work. But pleasure is as essential to life as air and water. It is the engine that drives us to create and thrive. The key is to never take pleasure to excess. Always be moderate and balanced. Seek balance in all things and in all things find balance. Your primitive brain also known as the limbic system is located in the temporal lobe at the base of your skull. The limbic system is made up of multiple parts such as the hippocampus which is your memory center. The basic drive for survival, sex, food and sleep all take place in the limbic system. The part that is responsible for basic pleasures and pain is the amygdala. The amygdala is our fear-based alarm system. Once fear and pain set in, we immediately seek to replace it with pleasure. The amygdala is the part of the limbic system which is involved with emotions and other reactions to stimuli. It contains many neurotransmitters with the central nucleus of the amygdala most strongly modulated by dopamine. In other words, it senses fear or threat and then reacts quickly to remove the fear or threat and replace it with our desire to experience pleasure rather than pain. Serotonin, as well as dopamine is a neurochemical that also effects our level of pain and pleasure. Both dopamine and serotonin need to be in sync if we are to be balanced. Where dopamine drives us towards pleasure, serotonin keeps us content, relaxed and satisfied. And although it can take pleasure to extremes dopamine is necessary for our survival and our ability to thrive. Therefore, the drive to seek pleasure is essential to both the survival and the thriving of human kind. END As well as being necessary for your survival, pleasure has many levels and layers. Just remember it can also be destructive if we allow pleasure to control our desires to the point of addiction. That is why yoga teaches us to enjoy life, but always in moderation and never to excess. It is our desire for excess that tips pleasure into pain. Just ask an addict how much pleasure there is in seeking the next fix? EGO: Flip your hands up and extend our index finger the symbol of your ego. The ego seeks to survive and part of the process of survival is to seek pleasure. The ego can be quite selfish when it comes to pleasure. It sometime seeks to fulfill this need with false and temporary symbols of pleasure rather than the pure essence of pleasure. Pull your ego in and place your thumb (soul) on top. The soul seeks pleasure in the simple things in life. The soul’s mission is to learn and evolve. This takes works that’s karma. When pleasure is experiences as gratitude and appreciation for the pure joy of living a full life, a person becomes prosperous. Seek to find true wealth and pleasure every day and you will truly be a prosperous soul. Next week we will continue with seeking pleasure… This week ask Lakshmi to bring you wealth and pleasure and then reach out with contentment and gratitude and you will prosper. Namaste ~ may you soul walk with health happiness and peace. Doctor Lynn For books, classes and private consultation http://www.doctorlynn.com

What are the Four Directions or Aims in Life that will Lead to Prosperity?

What are the Four Directions or Aims in Life that will Lead to Prosperity? Lakshmi presents us with four main directions, aims, or goals in life. Understand and follow these and you will prosper. You get limited opportunities in life. Make use of them because life is short. Most of the time it is your actions(karma) that determine your destiny; but sometimes a time gate will open and you will get chances, or opportunities to improve things, or redirect your life in the direction of your desires and dreams. You must remain steadfast in your aims. The first direction or aim in life is the accumulation of wealth. Don’t confuse wealth for money. Money in and of itself is valueless. It is only what we can purchase in exchange for money that gives it value. Wealth is abundant potential energy. The Kama Sutra, a Hindu Sanskrit text, makes it clear that health, love and pleasure, as well as music, art and education can only flourish in a prosperous society. Poverty therefore is not a virtue. It can actually be an obstacle toward creating harmony. Poverty can also be an obstacle when it comes to morals and ethics. It is somewhat difficult to be moral and ethical when you are starving and struggling to survive. Material wealth allows for the refinement of society and this refinement allows us to partake of pleasure, be kinder and more generous. Wealth is not just about the accumulation of money or material goods, although both have the power to make the world a better place. Wealth comes in many forms such as good health, love, happiness and rewarding work. Many people get lost in the illusion of material wealth and confuse the earthly symbols of wealth for success. Success is measured by the degree of your happiness and not the size of your bank account. END: In this world no one would argue that it is better to be rich than poor. Wealthy people have greater access to the necessities and the luxuries of life. Wealth affords more options and choices. But just remember this - it is not wealth that destroys. It is greed. Problems arise when wealth is used to control other people and to abuse society. In a world such as ours, with so much wealth, no person should ever go without or be abused. So, if you want to prosper, find a way to make the world a better place and you will become a wealthy person. Just remember the difference between wealth and material possessions. Wealth can mean having beauty, love and good health, and these can never be replaced with gold, money or other material possessions. Your true wealth comes from within. It is the source of your abundant energy and this energy has the power to create. Draw from it, create and you will prosper. Once found this cosmic energy can never be depleted. Just remember that energy is never lost it simply changes form. As long as the universe exist there will be infinite opportunity to tap into this abundant energy and with it create prosperity. Money may come and go, or slip past your outstretched hand, but if you use your abundant energy wisely you will always create wealth and with this you prosper. EGO: Flip your hands up and point out your index finger – the symbol of your ego. Feel the ego pull you away from your center. Material symbols of wealth can pull us away from our karmic work. The pull causes desires and expectations and these will always cause us to be restless and discontent. Pull your finger in and place your thumb on top – the symbol of your soul. The soul who seeks wealth by finding a positive and healthy way to fill a need will use wealth to make life a better place and this is truly how you prosper. So, look each day for the small symbols of wealth and use them to reach out from a place of contentment, be grateful for what you have, and then say it could be more; and then use that more to make your life and the world a better place. The Energy of Prosperity

Everything in life is a byproduct of energy. Therefore, if we wish to be successful in life, we must learn how to harness the energy of prosperity. Padmini Vidya is the yoga of prosperity. Padmini means lady of the lotus and vidya means the science of yoga. The lady of the lotus refers to Lakshmi the goddess of wealth and purity. Lakshmi the Goddess energy of prosperity is a powerful force. Her name means, “aim” or “goal”. She has four arms which signify her power to grant the four goals, or directions towards a successful and prosperous life: wealth (artha), worldly pleasure (kama sutra), harmony by adhering to a good moral and ethical code (dharma) and soulful liberation (moksha). These four goals grant us a fulfilling and prosperous life. The aim of the goals is to direct your highest potential into creating a prosperous life. Takes focus. Takes work. That’s karma let’s get started END Lakshmi reminds us that affluence should be respected because in reality affluence is a forceful stream of energy that has great power. It can create or destroy depending upon how we use it. Yoga encourages us to prosper while consciously paying attention to how we use our energy. Life is a dance of creation and destruction. If you want to bring prosperity into your life, let the energy of prosperity flow out towards others. Apply the Golden Rule of prosperity; do not take without giving back. Those who lookout for ways to help other and ways to contribute to the betterment of life, without expecting anything in return are sure to prosper. They have found a need and are fulfilling it. This brings us wealth in many forms. Whatever you have increase it. Instead of saying it could be less; say it could be more but do it from a place of consciousness contentment and peace. EGO: the ego likes to adorn itself with symbols of wealth. Its job is to preserve life and so it is constantly on the lookout for way to protect its individual life and give it importance. But the material symbols come and go. Pull in your finger and place the thumb on top. The only way to preserve eternal life is to understand and constructively use the energy of Padmini vidya to create what is good and destroy what is not. But be careful because what one culture may consider good another may consider bad. So, it is the task of your soul to search inside, work your karma and live your life with a focus on self and what self is being and doing. The work is about you and this is the law of karma and the pathway to prosperity. “Although you may gather a million gold coins, upon death, you cannot take with you even one copper penny.” (Chinese Proverb) Next week we will begin to work the first goal or aim of Lakshmi. Remember ~ Life becomes what life does ~ so work hard to master your karma and you will begin to prosper. Be the Master of Your Life - To Recap karma

If you want to prosper you must work your karma, and then uncover the four aims of life, as well as find the container that holds all the treasures that lead to prosperity. Keep all of this in mind as we now begin to walk the pathway of prosperity. Be careful not to fall into D-GAP and be controlled by The Troublesome Four. Don’t forget to unblock the four patterns that hold us back from working our karma. Remember the four great passions will get you into trouble and prevent you from working your karma if you are not consciously aware of them and use them to create punja or good merits: they are Deceit, Greed Anger and Pride. The troublesome four will surely get you into trouble as well; Envy, Jealousy, Resentment and Revenge will deter you from the pathway of prosperity. Also keep mind the four things that block you from working your karma; blocked Knowledge, blocked Feelings, blocked Vitality (health) and blocked Free Will; decisions and choices. Remember you are the master of your choices and must live with the consequences, so choose to think, speak and act as you would for eternity. Be open to constantly learning, open to experiencing all feelings and emotions of human life, pay attention to your health and your vitality and use your free will to choose what is the best pathway for you without doing harm. Let’s get started END Be careful not to fall into D-GAP and be controlled by The Troublesome Four or get blocked by the four patterns of karma. When you work your karma Lakshmi will show you the four directions in life and the fourteen treasures. If discovered these will bring you prosperity, but you must consciously work your karma or Alakshmi her evil twin will wreak havoc on your house. Next week we will begin to follow the four direction or aims of Lakshmi that will lead to prosperity. This week pay attention to your karma and consciously work it so that you bring healthy balance to the body, mind and the soul. EGO: Extend your index finger the symbol of your ego. Feel it pull you away from your center. The ego if you let it will direct your karma. It will seek to be right, to be discontent, to be restless, judgmental, prejudice, bias and to control. Pull your finger in and place your thumb on top. The ego’s only purpose is to insure survival. If we truly want to survive as a species, we need to follow the pathway of the soul which is always to seek kindness, compassion, generosity and peace. Walk this path – the world surely needs it. Remember ~ Life becomes what life does ~ so work hard to master your karma and you will begin to prosper. To Understand Affluence

To fully understand how to use the energy of affluence, we need to follow the four aims or directions of Lakshmi, the Goddess energy of prosperity, as well as learn how to find and use the treasures of life found within the container known as the Nidhi. But before we do that, we must fully understand how the energy of affluence works. Padmini Vidya reminds us that creation and destruction are powerful forces. But we should be forewarned; many sacred texts mention Alakshimi the evil sister of Lakshmi. With Disregard for order, disrespect of nature and poor hygiene she will bestow poverty and misfortune upon your house. If you want to bring prosperity into your life, let the energy of prosperity flow out towards others. Apply the Golden Rule of prosperity; do not take without giving back. Those who lookout for ways to help others and ways to contribute to the betterment of life, without expecting anything in return are sure to prosper. They have found a need and are fulfilling it. This brings us wealth in many forms. The goddess Lakshmi tells us that prosperity has far more to offer us than a beautiful home and a large bank account. Death won’t let you take any of these things with you. But abundance of potential energy brought into existence through conscious thought will bring you wealth. You are the source of your wealth. Whatever you have increase it. Instead of saying it could be less; say it could be more. Say I would like to have this, but do it from a place of consciousness contentment. Be content with what you have and then reach out for more. Lakshmi gives wealth and success to those who ask with sincerity and are willing to do the work. The work involves developing conscious awareness of how to use the dynamics of potential energy in complete harmony with the soul’s path. When you combine the infinite force of the soul with the finite source of the material world to create good, anything and everything is possible. This is the pathway to prosperity. END Remember this – the most abundant thing in the universe is energy. Use it wisely. Remember disregard for order, disrespect of nature and poor hygiene will bestow poverty and misfortune upon your house. The punja or merits we accumulate as we travel through life are with us from lifetime to lifetime. They define us and are by far our most valuable assets. Thea re the key to prosperity. Money can’t buy you happiness, but prosperity can! “Although you may gather a million gold coins, upon death, you cannot take with you even one copper penny.” (Chinese Proverb) EGO: The ego looks for control and power in the world. It believes itself more important than its’ mission. The ego is here to protect and not to accumulate material goods, accolade and titles. Pull your ego back and place your soul on top: Remember the golden rule of prosperity; give more than you take. Be content with what you have and then from this place og goodness reach out to create more and you will prosper. What is Affluence?

Lakshmi reminds us that affluence should be respected because in reality affluence is a forceful stream of energy that has great power. It can create or destroy depending upon how we use it. In the tradition of Padmini Vidya, wealth is not the accumulation of material things. Wealth is the ability to manipulate the energy of consciousness so as to bring about prosperity. Material things come and go, but once achieved the consciousness of prosperity is eternal. It becomes our frame of reference and our way of looking and acting within the world. The material world, on the other hand is a constant flow of changing energy. Youth changes to old age and day to night, but the consciousness of prosperity, once found and fully understood is eternal. You carry it with you forever. Although many people have the determination to create wealth, their attitudes in doing so can greatly influence the outcome. The accumulation of wealth takes more than positive thinking. It is a mindset that seeks to create. But we should remember that inert symbols of affluence are not wealth. Wealth is the byproduct of the energy of prosperity. As you think, speak and act so you become. Let’s get started… END: affluence should be respected because in reality affluence is a forceful stream of energy that has great power. It can create or destroy depending upon how we use it. Affluence means abundant energy. As long as you are alive you are abundant earth energy. Nothing in the material world can be created without energy and likewise nothing gets destroyed without the use of energy. You are the creative and destructive principle of your energy force. Use it wisely and you will prosper. EGO: when the ego thinks of abundance it thinks of the abundant material things that have been accumulated. The more accumulated the more owned and the more owned the greater appears the wealth. But things we accumulate whether it be a house, a car, a diamond or a large bank account must be maintained by our energy, or they will decline and disappear. It is the source of our creative and destructive energy that is the true source of abundance and not the inert material possessions of the world. You ae here on earth to work your karma so that you add to your abundant source. When you depart this world, you take none of your material possessions with you, but what you do take is what you have created and what you have destroyed. Your sold knows this – listen to your soul and use your abundant energy to make punja. What are the four goals, or directions leading to a successful and prosperous life?

To prosper we need to follow Lakshmi the Goddess of the energy of prosperity. The aim of the goals is to direct your highest potential into creating a prosperous and wealthy life. Lakshmi teaches us the Padmini Vidya or the yoga of prosperity. Prosperity is seen as good and necessary for a healthy and successful society, as well as for the individual. Surprisingly only a small fraction of yogis denounces the material world. That’s because yoga is really a very practical scientific method for living a balanced life. It does not denounce anything, but simply calls upon us to consciously inspect how we conduct our actions; that’s karma- the law of cause and effect. We must remember that every action in life creates a reaction, just as a mirror reflects an image. If we wish to prosper, we must pay attention to how our thoughts, words and deeds both create and destroy. Remember you are the power to both create and destroy. Contrary to what some people may believe the practice of yoga is not about living in a cave in an impoverish austere manner. The practice of yoga fully acknowledges the realities of living in a material world. It encourages us to incorporate the four important goals of; soulful growth, meaningful work, pleasure and wealth into living a fulfilling and meaningful life. Yoga encourages us to prosper while consciously paying attention to how we use our energy. Life is a dance of creation and destruction. Let’s get started creating healthy flowing energy while destroying negative and harmful thoughts words and deeds. END: Karma and Padmini Vidya are practical means for living a prosperous life. Just remember you are both the creative and destructive principle of life. You have tremendous power to direct energy towards that which is good and that which is not. Make punja, (good merits) and you will remove papa (misdeeds). The more you consciously do this the more prosperous your life will become for the universe will always provide for those who aim to make themselves and the world a better place. EGO: it is easy to compare yourself to others and feel that others are more successful and happier. The ego forgets that it is on a soulful journey and not about material possessions. Everything that comes into your life is simply an opportunity to discover how to use the energy of Lakshmi to prosper. We prosper when we stop looking outward and start looking inward. The soul in very powerful it can create prosperity while removing poverty; on all levels; if you let it. See prosperity and poverty for what they really are – simply the use of energy to create and to destroy. The Energy of Prosperity~ we are both the creative and destructive energy of our lives.

Everything in life is a byproduct of energy. Therefore, if we wish to be successful in life, we must learn how to harness the energy of prosperity. Shakti in Hinduism is believed to be the cosmic energy that moves through the entire universe creating ability, strength, power, potential and capacity. Shakti energy is the force that both maintains the universe and also makes it disintegrate. Shakti is known as the spouse of Shiva the Hindu God responsible for creation, upkeep and the destruction of the world. Together they enter into a dance of creation and destruction. This energy is believed to lie dormant within each of us at the base of our spine waiting to be awoken and lifted to our highest level of consciousness where we realize we are both the creative and destructive energy of our lives. What I am about to teach you is Padmini Vidya; the yoga of prosperity. Padmini means lady of the lotus and vidya means the science of yoga. The lady of the lotus refers to Lakshmi the goddess of wealth and purity. Lakshmi is personified as the shakti energy and also the wife of Vishnu one of the principal deities of Hinduism. Vishnu protects all humans and restores order to the world. He is found in all aspects of creation, as well as destruction and regeneration. Together they enter into the dance that either creates or destroys. Used wisely their energy will protect and regenerate, and this dance has the potential to create prosperity. Let’s begin END: Pay attention to your karma – you are both the creative and destructive principle of your life. Think about the great passions – for example anger. If you create anger you destroy kindness, happiness and joy. Reverse that and you create prosperity for a prosperous life is full of happiness and joy. Use your energy wisely and it will protect and provide all that you need to fulfill your life’s mission. Just remember you have the power and the potential to destroy ,or create prosperity. Keep soul walking and work your karma. EGO: The ego considers success to be accolated, titles and material symbols of wealth, But all of these things are transitory. Money comes and goes; beauty fades and importance can soon be forgotten. What is everlasting is the ability to direct your energy into punja. Draw your index finger in and place your thumb on top. Kindness and generosity create a kind and generous person and a kind and generous person carries that energy no matter what their station in life. Prosperity begins with believing in your ability to consciously create a better state of being and in this you make the word a better place. It takes work – that’s karma. Prosperity with a Purpose

The genesis for what I am about to teach you came from a message attached to a tea bag. It said to learn read and so I read; to know write and so I wrote, and to master teach and so I taught, and this has led me to discover how to prosper in the world. It is now time for me to share this with you.

What I discovered is that prosperity is everywhere. The challenges of life are simply opportunities to prosper and not barriers; unless you make it so. If you ask the world to bring you prosperity it will. If you ask it for poverty, it will surely oblige.

While working to correct my karma I stumbled upon an ancient yoga text about a lesser-known branch of yoga, Padmini Vidya the pathway to prosperity. As I began to study and teach it in relationship to Karma, I discovered that if you aim your life in the right four directions while paying careful attention to what you think, say and do, you will discover the treasures of life, and in this you will prosper.

Now I wish to share this path with you. Every obstacle in life is an opportunity to reveal the secret treasures of life. These treasures will endow you with all you need to prosper. You just need to know where to find them and then how to use them so that you prosper.

Just remember a secret is only a secret until it is revealed. When the seeker is ready to discover the secret, the secret pathway will be found.

The path to prosperity is not easily found. Like all things in life to truly prosper you must pay careful attention to your karma. The universe has a perfect accounting system. For every effect there will be a cause. Life become hat life does.  Let’s get started.

END

To prosper you must first learn how-to walk-through life in a soulfully conscious way. While doing this you will have the opportunity to discover the real treasures of life. Use them wisely and you will prosper. These treasures are available to everyone who has the desire to discover and use them constructively.  I have found these treasures to be of great value and so it behooves me to share them with you.

Just like the concept of alchemy, sometimes they come covered with rust, but if you take the time to look deep enough beneath the surface, you’ll find gold. You just need to know where to find these treasures, how to polish them, and then how to use them to prosper.

EGO: Prosperity does not mean to gain at the expense of another. The ego often times takes great pride in displaying its material wealth, or being envious and jealous of those who have more. Watch out for the troublesome four! We equate prosperity to the accumulation of things in the material world. The soul knows different We are not here to acquire but to achieve soul consciousness, and so let’s humbly bow to the soul and remember; money comes and money goes but prosperity once found last forever.

Follow along the pathway of Soul Walking and you too will discover how to prosper ~ here and now. Ask yourself this questions: “Traveler what do you seek here…since this world is not your final resting place?”

Namaste~ may you go with health, happiness and peace

#Karma ~ Overcoming #Obstacles

No doubt in 2021 we all had obstacles in our lives we needed to overcome, and no doubt as we approach the new year, we will also have obstacles to overcome. Karma means work. The nature of life is to work through life’s obstacles until we find peace and harmony.

To overcome life’s obstacles, we first need to understand the nature of life – it is continually changing, and is simply the result of cause and effect; put simply; life becomes what life does; If you want to change the effect you must change the cause. But we must also take time to reflect and accurately find the cause without blaming others, or falling into becoming a victim of life. This takes some self-realization for we are, at the core of our being, the cause for all that happens in our life simply by our actions and reactions to it. If someone hurts you it’s easy to blame that person. However, if we step back and observe we may find that the real cause is our lack of self-worth, or inability to release ourselves from toxic people and situations.

Yoga presents us with nine obstacles to overcome; physical illness, apathy and boredom, doubting self-worth, being distracted and careless, feeling heavy and burnt-out, having desires and cravings, doubting one’s progress, getting caught in the illusion of life and an inability to maintain and achievement continual practice karma yoga.

Karma teaches us that all of this falls into the four patterns of karma that block our progress. Blocking knowledge, (requires flexibly and being open to learning) blocking feelings, (requires strength) blocking vitality (requires balanced energy) and blocking free will (requires trust and liberation) It takes work to identify these and then to unblock them – that’s karma; let’s get to work.

END: Yoga presents us with nine obstacles to overcome; physical illness, apathy and boredom, doubting self-worth, being distracted and careless, feeling heavy and burnt-out, having desires and cravings, doubting one’s progress, getting caught in the illusion of life and an inability to maintain and achievement through continual practice karma yoga.

So, avoid burnout and stay vital; focus on vital radiant health body, mind and soul. Believe in your self-worth you are unique; seek to always learn and never be bored or distracted by life. Life is real it is your perceptions that get you caught in the illusion of life; be happy with what you have and then reach out for more; and continue to practice karma yoga, for you have made such progress this past year however, you must continue to practice, and when you think you have achieved success, practice some more. That’s karma – it takes continual work.

EGO: flip your hands up and rest them on your knees. Extend out the index finger – the symbol of the ego. Being bored, doubting self, being careless, feeling burnt-out, craving, doubting progress, living in an illusion and inability to maintain achievements are symbols of the egos fight to maintain its importance. Do not seek to extinguish the ego. It is for your self-preservation and self-identity. Simply seek to temper it by drawing your index finger in and placing your thumb on top which is the symbol of our soul; and remember from the soul’s perspective we  all have obstacle to overcome so:

Don’t fall into D-GAP

To overcome deceit and ignorance, be self-aware

To overcome greed and selfishness be generous

To overcome anger and hate be kind and loving

To overcome pride, be humble

Don’t block your progress:

To overcome blocking knowledge; be open and flexible

To overcome blocking feelings, be calm and self-reflect

To overcome blocked vitality, be healthy and radiant

To overcome blocked free will, be trustworthy and trust yourself

To overcome life’s obstacle, continue to practice karma. You have made such great progress this past year. Through continual practice you will achieve and maintain all things that you desire; health, wealth, happiness and peace.

#Meditation 2 - Self- Realization #Karma

To acquire self-realization on earth requires a dual existence. We must consciously perform our earthly duties while being immerse in soulful pursuit. Human life is full of sorrow and conflict until we learn to work our karma.

Karma teaches us that we are here on earth to perform our earthly work always mindful of the process of soulful pursuit. Everything that happens in your life is about the work of self-realization. We take on the body and the mind of a human and thus must do the earthly work of pursuing shelter, food, procreation and the means to survive. When we balance this with soulful work, we achieve self-realization and the answers to the question: why am I here, and what is this all about?

A self-realized person: Finds humor in a given situations. They get enjoyment and satisfaction out of the present moment They Understand what they need in order to gain a sense of purpose and meaning.

The process of self-realization is different for everyone. It is best described as being a sum of the parts rather than an isolated trait. For example, a person may have a creative soul and still not be fully self-realized. Self-realization is more about how we grow and expand our consciousness rather than about acquiring ideals such as perfection, success, or happiness.

It takes work – that’s karma Let’s get started

END

In general, self-realized people:

·      Accept themselves and others

·      Have a well-developed sense of creativity

·      Maintain deep and meaningful relationships

·      Can exist independently

·      Have a sense of humor, particularly an ability to find humor in their own mistakes

·      Accurately perceive reality, both as it pertains to the self and others

·      Have a sense of purpose and work towards realizing this

·      Experience frequent moments of profound happiness and joy

·      Show empathy and compassion for others

·      Appreciate the goodness of life.

Because self-realization is a duality between performing earthly duties and seeking soulful growth it can be a challenge. Working your karma, you begin to integrate your earthly work with your soulful work and in this you begin to walk the pathway of self-realization. But this takes work for it requires balancing the two while staying open and flexible and having the strength to believe in yourself.

Becoming self-realized is not always a straightforward process, and it can take lifetimes to achieve.  Many are good at acquiring earthly things through their earthly work, but few are good at achieving self-realization; it takes work – that’s karma.

EGO; the path of self-realization may be confusing to the ego. The ego sees the world as one of self-preservation and in this gets caught in the work of the world believing this to be the purpose of our lives. The main goal of the ego is to survive. Its need to belong, to get recognized and feel self-importance which often times overshadows the other side of our work – namely realization of the true self which has taken on this earthly presence to work our karma. Pull your finger in and place your thumb on top. See your talents, for we all have them. Work diligently to take advantage of them through conscious self-realization while consciously realizing your limitations.

Understanding comes to those who realize their true self. Realization of their true self comes to those who have gained understanding.

Namaste ~ may you go with health, happiness and peace
