Vrittis – our thoughts

Control the mind and you control everything. This is easier said than done. With practice and non-attachment we can learn to control our thoughts. When we control our thoughts we control our words and our deeds. To practice detachment we must be aware of the thoughts as they arise. Examine your thoughts carefully and then take deep breath, release the breath and let go of that which does not serve you and hold onto that which brings you peace.

Nothing is achieved without practice.

Continue to practice. It does not come in a day or a year. Scrutinize your thoughts, your words and your actions. Hold onto that which serves to bring you peace and let go of that which no longer serves you. How do you know it no longer serves you? If it disturbs your peace you no longer need it.
